Design
Radford College is nestled into the slope of a north facing slope in the suburb of Bruce, ACT. The 46 acre campus is exemplifies Canberra’s bush setting, peppered with gum trees and native scrub. A key challenge of the master plan was in creating improved walkability through the site and mitigating level changes with ease. The plan utilizes built form to frame courtyards and spaces between buildings creating purposeful and protected outdoor rooms.

Impact
Over the past six years, we have worked closely with the Radford College community to implement a range of projects including three new school buildings, a new lecture theatre, and a new sports precinct including a professional grade cricket centre, the Collegians Centre multifunction hall and the expansion of the existing Wigg Sports Centre.
Stewart Architecture has been an outstanding company to work with over the course of the development of our master plan and the three major projects that formed the first stage of the plan. All members of their team have a comprehensive understanding of contemporary pedagogy, and their innovation and creativity means that every part of the planning process is fully explored and developed. - Fiona Godfrey, Principal, Radford College, 2019.
